We are proud to bring this special gift to you and your new baby. Books are meant to be enjoyed, so look at the pictures, read the story, make up your own story, talk about the characters... Anything you can think of goes. Use the tips – try a new one every day. Most importantly, use your voice. Talk, sing, read, recite rhymes, ask questions. Your child loves to hear your voice, and using language helps your child's brain grow and develop.
Use your body, too. Touch, cuddle, tickle, move, caress. Your baby learns how to trust, how to communicate, and how to think and learn through touch. Physical touch and movement also have a special part in how your baby's brain develops.
We hope we will see you as your baby grows in our Magic Carpet Ride programs, or maybe even as part of a Building Blocks home visit series. So here's to you and your child, and the language that binds you together.
Made possible by funding from Coronation & District Support Services and Castor FCSS Alberta Advanced Education and Technology
